PARENTS
The Texas Family Code includes among its many chapters, a few dealing with allegations of abuse and neglect of children. These few code sections lay out when CPS may become involved in a family's life or make them particpate in family services. When certain criteria are met, the Family Code allows for the removal of children from their families and home by the State, and potentially to terminate forever the relationship between a parent and child.
It is an extremely emotional and gut-wrenching event if CPS comes knocking on your door. There are very few attorneys who have an intimate knowledge of CPS cases or who will represent clients with CPS cases.
Ray has many years of experience working within the CPS legal arena. Ray served for over five years as the attorney representing CPS in Potter and Brazos Counties. He has handled all aspects of a CPS case from giving legal advice to CPS for initial investigations through jury trials for termination of parental rights, and appeals. Ray began his legal career working on CPS cases as court-appointed counsel for parents in Galveston County. Ray now represents parents and children in CPS cases in Brazos, Grimes, Burleson, and surrounding counties.
